Shetland Organic Producers' Group |
| Formed in August 2001, the
Shetland Organic Producers' Group was set up to promote the organic movement in Shetland,
and introduce people to the benefits of using local organic products.
Among the aims
of the Group are:

At present there are seventeen members, ten of whom are involved in agricultural production, predominantly sheep. The majority of the current members are crofters, while a few are farmers. Other members are engaged in organic trout, salmon and cod production and processing. Most of the agricultural membership have now completed conversion and have 'full organic status', while others are currently in a 'simultaneous conversion' period. There are also seventeen associate members who are interested in furthering the aims of the Group. |
